Accelerating Our Momentum

By all accounts, 2018 has been a breakout year for DoorDash. We grew 250% YOY — more than tripling our business — to become the fastest growing last mile logistics company in the U.S., according to Edison Trends. Our geographic footprint nearly doubled since January to more than 1,000 cities across the U.S and Canada. We’re on pace to reach 2,000 cities by the end of the year, serving 200 million Americans. Leading the industry in selection, we added more top 100 restaurants to our platform than all other industry players combined, including national favorites like Chipotle, IHOP, Red Lobster and White Castle, while signing exclusively with The Cheesecake Factory last month. Building on the incredible momentum of DoorDash Drive, we announced a national grocery delivery partnership with Walmart that has now expanded to nearly 300 stores in 20 states in the last four months. Last week we debuted the DashPass subscription service and Pickup feature to generate even greater value for our merchant partners, while driving stronger loyalty among our customers with lower prices. Through Project Dash, we saved over 30,000 pounds of food to combat food waste. We grew our talented team by over 250 people in offices across the country, and welcomed key executives, including Chief People Officer, Sarah Wagener and Chief Financial Officer, Prabir Adarkar. To help us capitalize on this momentum, we are excited to share that we have closed $250 million in a growth round co-led by Coatue Management and DST Global, valuing the company at $4 billion. Update on Dasher & Courier Safety

We are deeply disturbed by the treatment of a Caviar Courier who was arrested last night while performing essential work in New York City, and we are relieved that he was released. We are in contact with the Courier and have offered our support. The health and safety of our community is a priority and we will continue to offer legal, financial, medical, and mental health support to Dashers and Couriers if they are wrongly arrested for violating the curfew in connection with their work on our app. We remain committed to protecting Dashers and Couriers who continue to serve on the frontlines and are authorized to access critical earnings opportunities on our platform while providing food to those in need. We have been in active conversations with officials in New York City and beyond to help ensure Dashers and Couriers can continue to perform deliveries and travel to and from work under the current local laws without fear of being harassed, detained, or arrested. We will continue to actively monitor the situation at a city level and provide real-time information to Dashers and Couriers to alert them where we are suspending operations in response to local curfews or to protect their safety.

Standing Strong With Vegas

As Las Vegas has been working to recover from the events of October 1, those of us here on the DoorDash Las Vegas team have been working to support the community in our own way. Together with our restaurant partners, we are delivering meal donations to victims, first responders and others that have been impacted by this tragedy. For example, this week we teamed up with Streets of New York Pizza to donate meals to more than 1,000 families and volunteers at the Family Assistance Center in the Las Vegas Convention Center. We’re also working with Opportunity Village to identify other communities that may need food and other supplies. We’ve set aside resources to continue to support the community with meal donations.
